Why We're Building a Premium Hubless Electric Bike Instead of Another Cheap E-Bike

The question we hear most often: "Why build an expensive, revolutionary e-bike when you could make cycling more accessible with a cheaper, traditional e-bike?" Here's our answer.

Many people assume the biggest problem with electric bikes is their price point. So, if we cut the price in half, suddenly everyone will embrace e-bikes. So in a bid for a cheaper model, they cut features, remove tech and end up building a technologically inferior bike. While this might drive short-term sales, it completely misses the fundamental issue plaguing the e-bike industry.

The Real Problem: People Outgrow E-bikes

The main issue with current e-bikes is, people don't stick with e-bikes long-term. You might love cycling in your early teens, but by late teens, the inevitable transition happens, and you want a motorcycle. And once you make that jump, there's rarely any turning back.

This jump isn't always about practical needs. Most people live within a 40km radius that an e-bike could easily serve. Electric assistance has solved performance limitations like hills, distance & sweat. Yet people remain reluctant to choose e-bikes over motorcycles.

The issue is perception, not performance.

E-bikes (especially in India) suffer from a perception problem that pricing can't fix. Making a basic inferior model only worsens this perception gap. Lowering tech signals lower value. Instead of solving the perception problem, it reinforces the idea that e-bikes are temporary, transitional vehicles.

Our Vision: Making E-bikes Aspirational Again

We're playing the long game. While others race to the bottom on tech, we're building upward, creating an e-bike so compelling, so technologically advanced, and so beautifully designed that it becomes the obvious choice for personal mobility.

We want to fundamentally shift the perception of what an e-bike can be. When someone sees HELEX, we want them to think: "Wow, I need to experience this". We're building HELEX to be your lifelong companion, the only two-wheeler you'll ever need for trips under 20km.

Our approach focuses on three key principles:

Revolutionary Design: The hubless frame turns heads and repositions E-bikes as cutting-edge technology.

Premium Experience: Every feature is designed to deliver an experience that's only possible on our hubless electric bike. We're making cycling fun, engaging, and aspirational again.

Perception Transformation: The hubless transformation isn't just aesthetically striking; it represents genuine innovation that positions e-bikes as cutting-edge technology. We're changing how people think about e-bikes entirely.

HELEX isn't just transportation. It's the future of how we move through our world.

Ready to experience the world's first fully electric hubless bike? To learn more about HELEX, join the revolution in personal mobility.

Haha, remember when that one investor told us "just make it cheaper and paint it blue" 😅 Still can't believe we had to explain why copying everyone else wasn't exactly our master plan. Good thing we're stubborn! This captures our vision exactly.
